Technical Officer, Environmental Sustainability Analysis

This is a 2 years term position from the date of reporting.
Your Challenge
.Design and develop new computer based approaches in implementing modeling and analysis software tools based upon scientific expertise in the area(s) of environmental sustainability analysis with a current focus on air quality modelling.
.Install, trouble-shoot, and maintain operational software tools and data sets.
.Write or modify specific routines to enhance the performance of the software tools and adapt their functionality to meet ESA research needs.
.Enhance the data sets through development and implementation of new data modelling and analysis tools. Independently assemble new and validated experimental data.
.Implement commercial and in-house complex environmental modelling and analysis tools, and independently conduct specific environmental sustainability analysis and model runs.
.Review, summarize, and extract technical information from relevant literature.
.Present data sets through computer-based charts, graphics and/or visualization tools.
.Interpret and document results through contributing to the presentation of technical papers and reports.
.Provide technical inputs to project plans, budgets, and reporting processes.
.Act as a technical contact for clients and work with clients to fulfill project objectives.
Screening Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry,Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering
Experience
.Experience working with complex environmental modelling systems.
.Experience working in a research laboratory environment.
.Experience with installation, trouble-shooting, and maintenance of computer software for environmental impact studies

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
Technical Competencies:
.Ability to independently use complex environmental modelling systems for environmental impact studies.
.Applied knowledge of environmental engineering, atmospheric chemistry, mathematics
and statistics.
.Ability to troubleshoot and modify environmental modelling software tools.
.Ability to model and process complex environmental data sets independently,
.Ability to analyze and interpret modelling results based on underlying model
science.
.Ability to present complex data sets and modeling results through computer-based
graphics.
.Demonstrated applied knowledge in Unix and scripts.
.Demonstrated applied knowledge in FORTRAN programming for environmental
modelling purposes.

Salary Range
From $57,232 to $73,604 per annum.
