Description
This position is required to provide analytical support to the Global Development Engineering Team. Analysis would include month end close with review of cost centre spend and evaluation of development investment that can be capitalized. This position is involved with developing and managing the annual plan and quarterly forecast.
This role requires the evaluation of the benefits and return on project investments by completing ROI and payback analysis. This position would be able to manage process changes in the areas of informational improvement and controls which will require interaction with various disciplines within the business units. This position will be able to function effectively in a team with the Development Engineering Manager and Controller ensuring that the dynamic requirements of the business are being appropriately supported. Specific duties include;
·Forecasting- develop spending forecasts and compare actuals year over year and forecasts to Budget
·Analysis –Complete ROI analysis on development investments and work on cross functional teams to assess project risks and opportunities.
·Month end – Analyze and highlight issues in monthly financials to provide explanations for business performance and identify areas of improvement. Review details of development projects and evaluate opportunities to capitalize investments.
·Complete quarterly reporting to satisfy SR&ED tax reporting.
·Develop Business Objects Expertise to support operational and analytical inquiries
·Participate in ad hoc analysis surrounding operational activity or other duties as assigned by the Development Team or Controller

·Communication Skills – Ability to summarize and present conclusions on analytical results in concise conceptual manner
·IT Skills – flexibility to work in a multi system environment
·Initiative/Dynamic – Needs to drive improvements and work with colleagues on multitude of issues and processess
·Strong Analytical and Forecasting Skills
·University Degree – Commerce or Business Admin.
·Designation – CA/CMA/CGA
·5 Years in manufacturing environment with 1-2 years specifically in analysis and forecasting
