Branch Manager- St. John’s
Responsibilities
· Ensures a wide range of Aon services and capabilities are assembled and available within the local branch community in support of the delivery of Distinctive Client Value.
· Under the direction of the Regional Director develops, implements and evaluates Branch sales and service programs against National standards and goals, in support of Regional business targets.
· Direct focus on new business production. Develop comprehensive plans for identified targeted prospects and existing clients based on pre-agreed financial goals and successfully producing a budgeted number of new clients, a budgeted financial goal and a budgeted level of penetration.
· Obtaining a defined number of prospects in sectors or market area and actively pursuing and creating interest through various cultivation practices.
· Visibly representing Aon in the local business community through presentations and participation in professional business and community associations. Establishes targeted business networking strategies and uses these networks and platforms to drive new business for the Branch.
· Developing and delivering insurance and industry related presentations / seminars to clients and prospects with a thorough understanding and knowledge of all available Aon resources
· Reviews Branch performance results and works to identify, spearhead and leverage new market and client service opportunities within the local community, determine causes of underperformance, and identify necessary corrective action steps where objectives are not being met.
· Provides account management oversight for the branch and works in conjunction with Regional management to ensure the effective delivery of sales and service programs.
· Demonstrates knowledge of business and financial principles, standards and best practices. Manages branch operational processes leading to increased revenue and income growth. Collaborates with and supports all such Regional initiatives and direction.
· With assistance from Team Leaders, manages branch resources to effect changing business processes, systems and organizational structure in support of the Regional business plan. Ensures the consistent effective application of National policies and procedures as they apply to Branch operations
· Approves all branch resource allocations and acquisitions to ensure their effective deployment and ultimate ROI in accordance with Regional and organizational financial objectives.
· Manages performance development, cross-training and succession planning initiatives in support of the attraction, retention and motivation of key branch talent.
· Directs the deployment of branch human resource bench strength in line with local, regional and national functional needs, strategies and programs.
· Embodies and sponsors Aon’s values and vision, business goals and objectives through a variety of effective communication techniques and structures.
· Fosters and motivates a collaborative team culture across groups, units and teams within the branch.
· Supports the achievement of organizational business goals by creating positive and productive branch working environments, coaching and developing talent and recognizing team and individual accomplishments.
· Ensures performance management goals and objectives are set, aligned and communicated within the Branch. Provides leadership, guidance and feedback to ensure performance standards are adhered to and branch objectives are met.

Qualifications & Experience |
· College Diploma/University Degree and/or a brokers license, CIP, FCIP, or CAIB Diploma.
· Minimum of 10 years of relevant commercial insurance and risk management sales experience.
· Proven business management experience.
· Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
· Sales training, as well as prospecting, sale-initiating and closing techniques.
· Experience/training in mentoring, coaching, delegation and change management.
· General Human Resources knowledge (interviewing skills, employment standards, health and safety)
· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
