Skills and qualifications :

. Experience working with Blood Analysis Medical Equipment
. Excellent verbal and written English
. Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or a certificate from a Technical/Military School in a related field preferred
. Minimum two years experience repairing biomedical instrumentation
. Valid driver’s license
. Ability to travel outside of designated territory and up to 50% overnight travel dependent upon territory; occasional weekend/holiday on-call coverage

Responsible for
.the overall department: new hires, union issues and scheduling of work.
.the day-to-day sanitation of the plant.
.the budget of the Sanitation Department and the ordering and inventory of chemicals used by the department.
.the coaching and discipline of employees and time keeping for payroll.
.ensuring those employees are following the written Sanitation Program
(ie. Verification and Auditing).
.reviewing all control plans relevant to this position.
.the continuous improvement of the Sanitation Department in developing an empowered environment, which can effectively perform all aspects of their duties with minimal direction.
.the operation of the Sanitation Systems, specifically central foamers and sanitizer systems, water and pressure systems.
.Ensure all sanitation issues are addressed in a timely fashion
.Working with Quality Assurance department to address plant sanitation concerns and to maintain high microbiological plant standard during sanitation cleaning.
.the initiation and execution of projects relating to the Sanitation Department.
.Take initiative to make recommendations on issues of concern.

POSITION OUTCOMES
.Ensure that
the plant is in a hygienic state for start up every evening.
HACCP, CFIA, company policies, sanitation, safety and WHMIS standards and documentation requirements are met.
budgets are developed and adhered to adequately.
the Sanitation Department continuously progresses with changes in procedures and technologies.
.Utilize outside resources (cleaning chemicals supplier, Pest control services supplier, etc.)
.Participate in all audits performed by the Manager of Corporate Sanitation Programs (Larry Mendes) and ensure that issues identified are corrected on a timely manner.
.Attend the Food safety team meetings held every month.
.Hold sanitation employee safety meetings every month.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
.Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel and Word).
.Mechanically inclined.
.Knowledge of cleaning systems (CIP, COP) and chemicals.
.Knowledge of H.A.C.C.P., GMP’s, WHMIS, First Aid, Health and Safety Regulations, and all of their applicable requisites.
.Strong people and interpersonal skills
.Strong time management skills and application of project management principles.
